WINDS OF CHANGE

September 2011

Dear Friends and Partners:

Please note that the homepage reflects the majority of the content of our new brochure. This new brochure will go out with a newsletter similar to the following information. The wind of change is upon us. We have changed course in that instead of offering discipleship and housing from the beginning of one’s recovery, we are now going to take women in after they have gone through the process of getting off drugs.

The bottom line: We are rearranging our priorities. As all of you know or may not know we minister to our women out of our home. After much prayer we have decided to make these changes in order to become more focused on our personal family. We have a God ordained marriage to nurture and two children who increasingly need more and more of our TIME. I, Kristal have also decided to join the family business: Reeves Propane. I am now working side by side Aaron.

Our burden to help the brokenhearted will never die! Hence our decision to keep our home open to help those who are in transition from being no longer addicted but struggling to re-enter society. Our home is a haven and will remain so until the Lord directs otherwise. We currently have two residents who are employed full time and fulfilling the criteria set forth by the Luke 4:18 program. They are part of our family and we love them dearly. Discipleship continues, Bible classes continue, therapy is still offered…Additionally, graduates and others in recovery participate in discipleship process by attending Bible classes that are still held here at Luke 4:18.

Please take TIME to read God’s Word below….we desire your continued prayer and support to keep this ministry alive…because truly Luke 4:18 LIVES!

A Time for Everything

1 For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
2 A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
3 A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4 A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
5 A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
6 A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
7 A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
8 A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

9 What do people really get for all their hard work? 10 I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. 11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11 NLT
